Hi,
My name is Anastasia Tokmakova, and I’m a designer based in Los Angeles. My interests are in art, words, and accessible design education.
I graduated from SCI-Arc in 2020. I’ve previously worked for architecture firms as a junior architect. I’ve written about art and architecture for Archinect. I’ve assisted with programming and communications at the MAK Center—producing newsletters, tours, and educational events. I’m currently working with the Design-Based Learning Project at UCLA Center X, as well as directly with its founder, Doreen Gehry Nelson, on creating books and other materials promoting DBL methodology.
I used to write a Substack and think about starting an architecture school for children (Youth Arts Club). Sometimes I draw or write poems. I buy too many art books, and sometimes I also make them. My most recent one is about ocean swimming.
Please email me to get in touch.
Thank you.
